All of us are familiar with the good old sport of arm wrestling. Arm wrestling originated at least 4,000 years ago. Most articles on the early history of armwrestling mention that the sport was practiced at least as far back as ancient Egypt, and that there are hieroglyphs that back up this claim. For the uninitiated, arm wrestling is a sport with two players, in which each player places one arm on a surface, with their elbows bent, while gripping the opponents hand. The goal is to pin the other’s arm onto the surface, with the winner’s arm over the loser’s arm. While the game itself is relatively simple, the mechanics that go into deciding how well a person will perform, are not. The top arm wrestling states in India include Kerala, Assam, Punjab, Maharashtra and New Delhi. Bulldog Armwrestling, in support with with PAL (Professional Armwrestling League), is all set to host India’s First URPA World Armwrestling Ranking series.
